From Friday 7 to Sunday 15 April 2023, the third blockade in a series of planned works on the Hastings line will take place meaning the line will be closed between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings as engineers deliver the final major improvements to the railway.
Rail replacement buses will be running throughout the duration of the closure and will accommodate passengers with accessibility needs. Services will run once per hour between Hastings and Battle (calling all stations); Battle and Tunbridge Wells (calling all stations); Battle and Tunbridge Wells (calling at St Leonards Warrior Square); Battle and Tunbridge Wells (calling at Wadhurst); Crowhurst and Battle; and with contingency buses in place at Hastings, Battle and Tunbridge Wells.
Tickets will be accepted on High Speed services via Ashford. Ticket acceptance will also be in place on Southern services, and car park season ticket holders will have the option to park at Bexhill, Crowborough or Eridge without incurring additional charges.
Agency staff will be in place at all stations during the closure to provide assistance for passengers. Southeastern will also be utilising conductors from Hastings to undertake ticket checks at both Hastings and Battle. Station buildings will be available to provide shelter from the weather and toilet access for passengers, whilst staff are on site. An accessible toilet block will also be provided at Battle.
