Watch: New Battery Train Technology

During the Transport Select Committee meeting today, which focused on decarbonising the rail network, I asked Malcolm Brown, Chair of the Rail Industry Decarbonisation Taskforce, what is preventing the Southern rail network from using battery hybrid technology. An encouraging response that there is soon to be a trial of such a train and this will be produced in the UK.
