Local MP, Huw Merriman, has asked residents in the Bexhill and Battle Constituency to nominate their local pub for the Community Pub Hero Awards.

Huw said “Has your local pub done something incredible to support the community during lockdown? Maybe by offering vital supplies for local residents, cooking hot meals for the elderly or keeping people connected through online quizzes or chats.  Then please let me know so I can thank them and nominate them for the Parliamentary Community Pub Hero Awards.”

PubAid has launched the Community Pub Hero Awards to celebrate licensees and teams who went the extra mile to help their communities through the pandemic.

Huw added “We have some amazing pubs in the Bexhill and Battle constituency who are at the heart of their communities. They have also faced really tough times. We need to celebrate and support them so please let me know if you think your local should be nominated for this award.”

Huw will be putting forward the pub with the most nominations but would love to about all the local pub heroes. Please email your nomination to [email protected] by 27 November.
