To help push the Transport Select Committee’s ideas from our inquiry on Active Travel, I asked the Transport Minister what more can be done to ensure that safety projects can be delivered by local authorities to help cyclists and walkers.
There are too many examples of good projects, which would make for safer travel, being stifled because they do not meet stringent safety requirements.
This means we either have expensive solutions or, more often than not, no safety solutions at all. I was encouraged by the response, and grateful that new funding was announced of the back of my original question.
