Huw is asking local residents to nominate their favourite South Asian restaurant for the prestigious Tiffin Cup awards.
The Tiffin Cup is awarded every year in Parliament by the Tiffin Club of MPs. The aim is not only to applaud the quality of South Asian food in Britain but also to raise much needed money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of the charities World Vision and Water Aid.
Each regional finalist is invited to take part in the final at the Palace of Westminster for a special cook-off where the overall winner is judged by celebrity chefs. Last year, Bexhill restaurant, The Shiplu Tandoori was nominated for the award and was named South East Runner Up.
Huw said “I was delighted that last year a Bexhill restaurant, The Shiplu Tandoori, was awarded the South East Runner Up following a visit from a mystery diner. I know we have many wonderful South Asian restaurants in the Bexhill and Battle constituency serving delicious food and, as much as I love a curry, I haven’t yet tried them all! That is why I’m asking local residents to nominate their favourite restaurant for this year’s competition and I will put forward the restaurant that receives the most nominations.”
Nominations can be sent by email to [email protected] but must be received by Thursday 14th April
