Huw visited Robertsbridge art gallery, blackShed last Friday, to see the collaborative work of local artists Simon Page and Martin Brockman whose exhibition 'Give Us Back Our Eleven Days' contained an exciting range of new works in wood, clay, print and paper.
Huw said "It was a delight to join owner Kenton Lowe and Heathfield-based artist Simon Page and Robertsrbridge artist Marting Brockman at the award winning blackShed Gallery, a contemporary art space in the heart of the constituency. Overlooking the hop fields of Robertsbridge, the gallery sits peacefully amongst converted farm buildings, just off the A21.
"With a rise in popularity of artists emerging from the South East of England, the gallery provides a varied programme of exhibitions, including works from some of the most significant national and international artists from the South Coast. Having hosted his daughter for work experience, it was a particular treat to view Simon's superb first joint exhibition with Martin in the gallery.
Thanks to Kenton Lowe, for not only having me along but for being such a great supporter of the Bexhill Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair."
