Huw led a meeting with Chief Secretary to the Treasury Liz Truss and representatives from international charities and organisations including Save the Children, UNICEF, Oxfam, Coalition for Global Prosperity and the Overseas Development Institute to discuss the humanitarian and economic impact that UK aid delivers across the globe and the challenges facing international development.
The meeting was a roundtable discussion on how the upcoming Spending Review could be used to meet global poverty challenges and strengthen the management of UK aid spending as well as providing more value for money.
The Spending Review is held every three years or so and is used to decide how much finance is allocated to different government departments. It is overseen by Liz Truss.
