During my appearance before the Transport Select Committee this morning in my role as Rail Minister, I discussed the issue of Eurostar and services from Ebbsfleet and Ashford International stations.
Through these station stops, Eurostar has played a significant role in the economic prosperity of Kent and the surrounding South East and the decision not to resume services has had a knock-on effect to the regional economy in addition to the loss of choice for individual travellers. During the Transport Select Committee session I talked about the current situation with regard to the Kent stations.
You can find the previous correspondence I have had with Eurostar on this issue here. You can watch the full Transport Select Committee session here. The full transcript from the session can be found here.
