In Parliament, Huw thanked the Local Government Minister for the allocation of additional funding for East Sussex County Council and asked if the government could move away from providing one-off top-up funds to local authorities towards more forward looking, multi-year planning to ensure they can plan effectively for their future.
The Minister said he recognised the desire for long term funding in relation to local authorities and said this was reflected in the local government financial settlement. He said he would further make the case for a multi-year settlement in the upcoming Spending Review, which will set out funds for future public spending.
