In Parliament, Huw asked the Defence Minister what more was being done to support veterans’ access to support services and what engagement the Ministry of Defence (MoD) had had with the charity sector, which he said had played an “amazing role” in enhancing veteran support.
The Minister said support for veterans should be backed up by practical actions. To this end, he said the government was investing in a new veterans’ strategy which would help co-ordinate avenues of support and said he, along with Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson, regularly meet with charities in the MoD and would continue to do so.
