During the Easter break, I took the opportunity to visit the amazing team at Little Gate Farm in Beckley and find out more about their latest training programmes which support young people and adults with learning disabilities and/or autism into employment. It was good to hear about their cut flower and floristry business which is teaching a wide range of new skills.
I was also interested to hear about their exciting new college which starts in September and will be based at The Pelham in Bexhill. This college will support school leavers take their next steps into employment via their Future Ready programme and supported internships. There has already been strong interest in the college and Little Gate Farm is looking to grow their links with local employers who can offer work placements and supported internships for their students, particularly in and around Bexhill where the college is based.
Many local employers are already working with Little Gate Farm and many have found excellent permanent staff through this scheme. If you are interested in finding out more please email [email protected] or visit their website https://www.littlegate.org.uk/what-we-do/little-gate-college/
